A jakou významnou historickou událost park připomíná?

Peace Park was founded at the beginning of the 20. century, when Taiwan (at that time known as Formosa) was ruled by the Japanese. The park is in the style of Japanese gardens with small ponds, arched bridges and amphitheater. The park commemorates one important historical event of the 20th century in Taiwan.
After the second WW, thanks to the help from USA, Kuomintang authorities from mainland China replaced the Japanese. In 1947, a group of protesters, who did not agree with brutal police action against Taiwanese civilians used the broadcast station against Kuomintang. As a response, tens of thousands of inhabitants disappeared, died or were imprisoned. The memorial in this park reminds us of this terror.
