From 1956 to 1967, Mr Hsuan Kung used vast amounts of his own funds to build the main Xintiang Temple in downtown Taipei and two branch temples in Taipei City and New Taipei Ciy. The main temple, which we have visited, is also known as En Chu Kong Temple. On average, it is visited by tens of thousands of believers every day. The Five cardinal relationships represent the traditional ethical spirit of Confucianism. They are love between children and parents, fidelitz between the ruler and subject, distinction between husband and wife, precedence between younger and older siblings and trust between friends.
The temple's foundation supports gifted students and provides assistance to students with limited needs.
